Kazakhstanis have the right to receive a pension in the EAEU countries

On January 1, 2021, the Agreement on Pension Provision of Workers of the Member States of the Eurasian Economic Union, developed by the Eurasian Economic Commission jointly with the states of the Eurasian Economic Union (hereinafter – the EAEU), entered into force.

The Agreement defines the procedure and mechanism for exporting pensions from one country of the Union to another, provides for the summation of the length of service in the EAEU states to determine the right to a pension.

Under the terms of the Agreement, employees are citizens of Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia and Belarus, for whom pension rights are formed or formed through labor or other activities in the territory of another EAEU member state.

An important condition for receiving pension savings is the presence of at least 12 full months of work experience acquired in the territory of a member state (after the entry into force of the Agreement), according to the legislation of which the worker claims to be awarded a pension.
