The Concept of safe work in Kazakhstan will be developed by the end of 2023

The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan in order to comprehensively solve problems in the field of labor protection is developing a draft Concept of safe work in the Republic of Kazakhstan until 2030, the document is planned to be prepared by the end of the year, the press service of the department reports.

All over the world, ensuring safe and decent work is one of the key directions of state policy and national labor protection programs.

As part of the new directions of the Concept, it is planned to introduce a proactive management format in the field of occupational safety, including occupational risks. It is proposed to implement this by creating a Digital Occupational Safety Map (similar to a Digital Family Map) – a personalized database of enterprises on occupational risks. By analogy with the international “occupational safety barometers”, this online tool will allow you to keep your finger on the pulse on all aspects of safe work.

The concept is aimed at:

meeting international standards and improving the quality of working life;

strengthening proactive state control in the field of labor protection in organizations through the integration of databases;

improving the effectiveness of economic incentives for employers;

creation of a labor saving system within the framework of the introduction of a model of compulsory insurance against accidents at work, which establishes obligations for the implementation of preventive and rehabilitation measures.

On May 25 this year, the draft Concept will be presented at the 11th Kazakhstan International Conference and Exhibition on Occupational Safety and Industrial Safety “KIOSH 2023”. The event is planned to be attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Altai Kulginov, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan Tamara Duissenova, the first heads of large industrial enterprises of the country.

Earlier, the draft Concept was widely discussed within the framework of regional industry conferences organized by the Ministry of Labor together with industry associations of employers.

It is expected that international and national experts of the 11th Kazakhstan International Conference and Exhibition on Occupational Safety and Industrial Safety “KIOSH 2023” will discuss and make their recommendations on the innovations of the Concept.
