The stay of foreign persons (non-residents) in Kazakhstan

The stay of foreign persons (non-residents) in Kazakhstan requires a visa. This does not apply to citizens of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU): the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation.

EAEU citizens can stay in Kazakhstan for no more than 90 days from the date of crossing the border. For one of the following reasons, you can apply for a temporary residence permit:

  • work, treatment, study;
  • family reunion;
  • opening a business;
  • missionary activity.

The temporary residence permit grants the right to stay in Kazakhstan for one year with the possibility of extension.

1. Notification of a foreigner’s stay in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The receiving persons inform the internal affairs bodies about the immigrants staying with them within three working days from the date of their arrival.

Documents are required for this:

1) a copy of the foreigner’s passport;

2) Migration card with a border crossing mark, which is issued by officials of the Border Service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan at checkpoints across the state border;

3) Application for registration in any form (we will compose the text);

4) EDS company keys.

2. Obtaining an individual identification number (IIN).

Documents are required for this:

1) 1 notarized power of attorney – original (we will compose the text)

2) A notarized copy of the passport (the first page of the passport is enough)

3. Receipt of EDS keys and registration of a mobile phone number in BMG.

Documents are required for this:

1) 1 notarized power of attorney (we will compose the text);

2) A notarized copy of the passport (the first page of the passport is enough).

4. Registration of an employment contract in the Unified System of Accounting for employment contracts.

Documents are required for this:

1) a copy of the employment contract;

2) a copy of the foreign passport.

3) EDS company keys.

5. Submission of documents for obtaining a PRTR.

Documents are required for this:

1) a copy and an original (for verification) of a foreign passport;

2) IIN issued on a foreign passport;

3) A petition on the Company’s letterhead with the signature of the head and seal (we will draw up);

4) A copy of the employment contract (issued on a valid foreign passport.passport, indicating the IIN and the term of the contract);

5) A copy of the marriage certificate and the birth certificate of the child (if accompanied by a family);

6) A lease agreement with the landlord or the owner’s notarized consent (indicating the owner’s IIN, the lease term and including information about the spouse in the contract, if available);

7) RC code of the apartment (the owner of the apartment can get this code on the egov portal “certificate of encumbrances on real estate”)

8) A copy of the notification of arrival and changes of residence address to the address of the apartment (the addresses in the notification and in the lease agreement must match, also the passport in the notification must match);

9) The company’s RKA code (also via EDS can be obtained on egov).
