The Head of State received the Commissioner for Human Rights

During the meeting, the new powers of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the context of constitutional reform to ensure the rights of citizens through appeals to the Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court, as well as interaction with the Prosecutor General’s Office were discussed, the press service of Akorda reports.


The President emphasized the importance of taking effective measures by the judicial system and law enforcement agencies in terms of strengthening constitutional guarantees of citizens in the process of criminal justice and execution of punishment.

In conclusion, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev pointed out the priority of tasks aimed at developing the institution of the Ombudsman and strengthening its potential. In particular, he gave a number of instructions aimed at further strengthening the constitutional guarantees of human and civil rights.
